How does it work?
Technology is on the threshold of enabling everyday people with limited resources to do what previously was only possible in Hollywood.
To put it into the words of Bill Gates: "There are many talented people whose aspirations and potential have been thwarted by economics and their lack of tools. New technology will offer people a new means with which to express themselves."
All our animations have been created by Scott Cawthon in his "spare time" and are distributed by David Hutter. We both have full-time day jobs that help us to finance the postage, DVD replication and also production of further HOPE media projects.
We believe that the hope that is communicated through these films is far too important than for its message to be only heard by people who are willing to pay money for a DVD that they have never heard of. Therefore, we've agreed to offer the animations FREE to anybody who would like to watch them.
First we set out to post them to people around the world. But as this turned out to be a lot of work and quite expensive in regards to postage, we now also offer them as online movies (in better quality than YouTube) in our FREE members area.
Yes, we're aware that the animations can not be compared yet to Pixar Animations or Walt Disney, but hey - we're still young and the technology is still in its early years. If you have a look at our Mission statement, we work on our skills and like to network with other artists. Furthermore, our "business model" (i.e. working from our bedrooms in our spare time) makes it possible for us to create complex projects for very little money. |
Why do we use the HOPE logo?
The HOPE brand is part of the HOPE 2008 initiative that aims to facilitate "intensified, united, focused prayer and a year of activities, communicating the Gospel through words and actions". It is an initiative for churches around the UK to work together to show the love of Jesus to people in their areas.
HopeAnimation.com is based in Canterbury, UK and works as sub project of HOPE 2008. Whilst we initially offered our resources mainly to the UK, we had responses from all over the world and since the end of 2007 we have sent hundreds of DVDs to five continents.
